- Goffredo Fofi was born on April 15, 1937 in Gubbio, Umbria, Italy. He was an actor and writer, known for Slap the Monster on Page One (1972), 12 dicembre (1972) and Viper (2000). He died on July 11, 2025 in Rome, Lazio, Italy.
- He worked with several publishing houses including Einaudi and Feltrinelli.
- At the age of eighteen, he had left for Palermo, to follow the battles of Danilo Dolci inspired by Gandhian pacifism, for the redemption of the unemployed and the less well-off classes.
- His journalistic investigation L'immigrazione meridionale a Torino, rejected by the Turin publisher Einaudi for considerations on the policy of the company Fiat towards immigration, it was instead published by Feltrinelli.
- In the first half of the 1960s he moved to Paris and worked in the film magazine Positif.
- In 1967 he founded Ombre rosse in Turin, a film magazine with strongly political content and very close to the student and workers' movements.
