Biography

Ayhan Isik was born on May 5, 1929 in Izmir, Turkey. He was an actor and producer, known for Cingöz Recai (1969), Örgüt (1976) and Kanun Namina (1952). He was married to Gülsen Isik. He died on June 16, 1979 in Istanbul, Turkey.

After years of success in cinema, he formed his own production company. He was known as a real professional, particularly for being meticulous about never arriving late, and always leaving on time, whether he was a producer or actor on the film.

Although he was Turkey's most famous and best-earning lead actor of his era, he led a reserved life, rarely going out in public and instead preferring to spend time with his family and friends.

Before he started acting, he was an accomplished and talented artist, having pictured many serials and graphical novels for newspapers.

He died of a brain hemorrhage at the age of 50, during a long sunbathe.

Has an uncanny resemblance to George Clooney. The resemblance is so strong that at one point, there was an urban legend in Turkey about Clooney being Ayhan Isik's illegitimate son, from the days when he had a brief acting stint outside Turkey. However, these rumors are unfounded. While Isik did in fact act in a couple of foreign productions, they were in Italy, not Hollywood. Besides, they were made in the 70's, when George Clooney was already over 10 years old. Nevertheless, it is undeniable that the two actors do look like father and son.
