- Tom Fleming was born on June 29, 1927 in Edinburgh, Scotland, UK. He was an actor and executive, known for King Lear (1971), Jesus of Nazareth (1956) and An Age of Kings (1960). He died on April 18, 2010 in Edinburgh, Scotland, UK.
- Scottish character actor, on stage from 1945, whose resonant voice was heard on BBC for 44 years as narrator of the Edinburgh Tattoo. Director of the Royal Lyceum Company in the 1960's and co-founder of the Edinburgh Gateway Company in 1953. Acted for several seasons with the Royal Shakespeare Company from 1962. Made a Fellow of the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama.
- He was the first actor ever to play Jesus Christ on British television, in the BBC serial Jesus of Nazareth (1956). He was later considered for the same role in Nicholas Ray's film, King of Kings (1961), but Jeffrey Hunter eventually played the role instead.
- He was awarded the OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire) in the 1980 Queen's New Year Honours List for his services to drama.
