- His grandfather, William E. Miller, ran for vice-president with Barry Goldwater in 1964 against Lyndon Johnson and Hubert Humphrey
- His is the nephew of progressive talk radio personality, Stephanie Miller.
- In 2011, he joined the "I am Visible" campaign and appeared on the cover of "Bi-Social" magazine where he proclaimed his bisexuality. His real-life status spilled into reel-life, since he appeared twice on "Law and Order: SVU" playing different characters, but both times he played men, who were married to women, who also had male lovers.
- He is a member of the 1988 E.C. Glass High School football team that won the Virginia 3A State Championship.
