Gotthilf Fischer was born on 11 February 1928 in Plochingen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. He was an actor, known for Total Normal (1989), RTL Samstag Nacht (1993) and Schwarz blüht der Enzian (2014). He was married to Hildegard Fischer. He died on 11 December 2020 in Weinstadt, Germany.

Has one son, Herbert, and two daughters, Renate and Brigitte.

Has been choirmaster of the Fischer Choirs, known throughout the world for their compelling music, since 1946.

Was invited to perform at the White House in front of President <a class="ipc-md-link ipc-md-link--entity" href="/name/nm0141699/?ref_=nmtrv_trv">Jimmy Carter</a> and at the Vatican.

Conducted more than 1,000 singers at the closing ceremony of <a class="ipc-md-link ipc-md-link--entity" href="/title/tt0397218/?ref_=nmtrv_trv">1974 FIFA World Cup (1974)</a> in Munich.
