Several decades after the filming of Jaws (1975), Fierro walked into a seafood restaurant and noticed that the menu had an "Alex Kintner Sandwich". She commented that she had played his mother all those years ago. The owner of the restaurant ran out to meet her - none other than Jeffrey Voorhees, who had played Alex. They hadn't seen each other since the original movie shoot.

During the period after the filming of Jaws (1975), Lee operated a children's theatre, Island Theatre Workshop, in Tisbury, Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts, with friend Mary Payne. Lee was a well-known force for acting and the performing arts for the citizens of Martha's Vineyard.

Attended Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech and was a member of the NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People).

Best remembered for her role as Mrs. Kintner in her famous scene in Jaws (1975) where she walks up to police chief Martin Brody and slaps him out in public for his poor decision to allow the beaches of Amity Island to remain open after the attack on Chrissie Watkins.

She received the "Woman of the Year" award by Women Empowered to Make Healthy Choices for her local theater workshop (2013).

Was member of the Grace Episcopal Church, where she sang in the choir.

Was Artistic Director for 25 years at the Island Theatre Workshop on Martha's Vineyard.

Performed in many stage productions at the Martha's Vineyard Playhouse in Vineyard Haven, Martha's Vineyard.

Was director of the Apprentice Players on Martha's Vineyard.
