Biography

Rebecca Weinberg was born in 1968. She is a costume designer, known for Sex and the City (1998), Big City Blues (1997) and Miami Rhapsody (1995).

Originally from Houston, Texas. Lived in Atlanta briefly after high school, then moved to New York City in 1987 with friend RuPaul.

Born in 1968, to a father who was a musician and fisherman and mother who was a trapeze artist turned model. She is an only child.

Styling/costume design partner, as well as personal partner, to Patricia Field for a number of years. Rebecca started out as a runner girl for Patricia in the late '80s. They have collaborated on a number of projects together, most notably Sex and the City.

Did a one-woman cabaret musical theater show in New York City before hitting it big.

We have a big fitting where we all sit in a room for five or six hours each 10 days, we turn up the Ramones and basically play around with different things. For example, with Carrie it might start with a great Dior dress, then we'll think about what she's going through. Is she vulnerable? Will she need a scarf to play with to give her hands something to do? If so, which scarf? We might throw over some nasty cardigan to mix it up. We try and tell the story through the clothes as much as possible, but most of the time it's just like girlfriends playing dress-ups. We make mistakes but we hit it most of the time.
