Arabella Field

Overview

  • Born
February 5 · New York City, New York, USA

Biography

  • Arabella Field is a Theatre World Award-winning actress whose work stretches across stage, film, and television. Her diverse roles include playing a grieving wife attempting to foist parental responsibility for her daughter onto a horrified Larry and Freddy on Curb Your Enthusiasm, the mother of Taissa Farmiga on American Horror Story, Amy the AA sponsor to Julianna Margulies' character on The Sopranos, Diane Kruger's friend and assistant in National Treasure, a Romani mother on House, Hank Azaria's wife in Godzilla and one of George's memorable girlfriends on Seinfeld. Field grew up in Brooklyn and attended Edward R Murrow High School in Midwood. While still a student, she immersed herself in New York's downtown scene, studying at HB Studios by day and becoming a fixture in the punk rock club scene by night. She co-founded a popular zine with friends, photographing and interviewing seminal bands including the Beastie Boys, Bad Brains, and Young and Useless. Her extensive archive of teen punk rock photography has been frequently licensed for documentaries, books, and media. After training at Fordham University, spending her junior year in London, and studying with Meisner teacher Phil Gushee in New York, Field built her career through regional theater and New York stage work, including Manhattan Theater Club, Naked Angels, and MCC, before expanding into independent film in New York and eventually finding her way to studio films and television.
