Although Hertha Feiler was considered to be a fourth Jew during the Nazi power and was only able to work with a special permission, she and Heinz Rühmann were presented in the press as a model married couple.

With Heinz Rühmann she took part in her last movie "Die Ente klingelt um halb acht" in 1968 before she retired from the film business because of cancer disease.

Vivacious, charming Viennese leading lady of the 1940's and 50's. Feiler acted on stage at Vienna's Scala in 1936 and made her movie debut the following year. She was married from 1940 to German star Heinz Rühmann, who had directed her in her third feature, Many Lies (1938). The happy marriage lasted until her untimely death from cancer in 1970 at the age of 54.

She was an excellent equestrian and swimmer.

The actress Hertha Feiler original wanted to become a pianist but an inflammation at her arm prevented this intention. When she looked for an other artistic activity she stumbled on the acting.

In the 50's followed more mature roles in which she often impersonated women with self-confidence and cheerfulness but who also knew the shady sides of life.
