  • Anthony had his first professional acting gigs at the ages of five and six. Although having a passion for film since very young, it wasn't until high school that he started to train formally. He was selected for the Governor's Program for the Gifted in Theatre Arts in 1982. That same year, he had his first one act produced in the Florida Theatre Conference, as well as landing a supporting role in "Last Plane Out," a David Nelson film, featuring the true story of an American journalist trapped in Nicaragua during the Sandinista revolution. He went on to attend Miami Dade College where he continued his theatre studies choosing to pursue a career as a composer shortly after finishing his degree. His music, in co-writing partnership with Angel Perez Castellanos was featured in two foreign films, "Extra Large," (Italy) and "Jet Dreams" (Japan), a commercial jingle for a national brand, and topped thirteen college radio charts in the spring of 1990. At the age of 28 he put his artistic career on hold to support his family however remained involved in film by producing and shooting television commercials with Mr. Perez Castellanos as principals of a Miami based marketing and advertising firm. In 2008 after making a career change which allowed him to pursue his passion for film, Tony returned to the South Florida acting and producing scene. Since then he has appeared as a lead and co-lead in dozens of short and full feature independent films. In co-writing partnership with Mr. Perez Castellanos, he has produced and directed seven short films, two of them, "Best Man," winning honors as the Best Short Film in the Honolulu Film Festival and "In Character" best short of the year at the NOLA competition. "Junah's Gift," their first full feature has won and or placed at the Emerging Screenwriters Competition, The Hollywood Screenplay Festival, Austin, Bluecat, Cinequest, Circus Films, Collective Dream Studios and a top 20% at the Academy Nicholls Fellowships.
