Nadia Farès was a French actress of Moroccan heritage. She hailed from Marrakech, Morocco, where she spent her formative years before pursuing her entertainment career in France.

Farès launched her acting journey in 1992 with her debut performance in "My Wife's Girlfriends," establishing her presence in French cinema. Her career trajectory shifted dramatically with her breakthrough role in the acclaimed police thriller "Les Rivières pourpres" ("The Crimson Rivers") in 2000, which catapulted her to international recognition and solidified her reputation as a versatile performer.

She demonstrated her range across multiple genres, appearing in the action-comedy "Wasabi" alongside Jean Reno in 2001, and later expanding into Hollywood productions with notable roles in the action thriller "War" (2007) as Jade and the horror film "Storm Warning" (2007) as Pia. Besides acting, she also composed music.

She successfully bridged French and international cinema, becoming one of the prominent Moroccan-French actresses who helped pave the way for greater representation in European film. Her work in "The Crimson Rivers" remains particularly influential in establishing her as a significant figure in contemporary French thriller cinema, contributing to the genre's evolution and international appeal.

In January 2026 she told Gala magazine : &quot;In 2007, I had brain surgery because of an aneurysm, and in four years, I underwent three heart operations&quot;.

On 11 April 2026, Farès was found unconscious in a gym swimming pool at the private sports complex of Blanche in Paris. She was rescued by a fellow swimmer who attempted to revive her by administering CPR, before being taken to Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital where she was put into an artificially induced coma until she suffered cardiac arrest.

In 2025, she conducted the casting for actors for the comedy <a class="ipc-md-link ipc-md-link--entity" href="/title/tt32992509/?ref_=nmtrv_trv">Toujours possible (2025)</a> by <a class="ipc-md-link ipc-md-link--entity" href="/name/nm1190574/?ref_=nmtrv_trv">Jacques Ouaniche</a> alongside <a class="ipc-md-link ipc-md-link--entity" href="/name/nm0495166/?ref_=nmtrv_trv">Amanda Lear</a>.
