Biography

Henry Farrell was born on September 27, 1920 in Madera, California, USA. He was a writer, known for Hush...Hush, Sweet Charlotte (1964), What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? (1962) and What's the Matter with Helen? (1971). He was married to Molly Dodd. He died on March 29, 2006 in Pacific Palisades, California, USA.

Best known for writing psycho-biddy novels, his novel "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?" (1960) was made into a film version two years later in 1962 and started an entire horror film subgenre. His next novel, "Whatever Happened to Cousin Charlotte?", was the basis for the film Hush...Hush, Sweet Charlotte (1964). Both films were directed by Robert Aldrich and starred Bette Davis.

Hir first novel, "The Hostage" (1959), was made into a film version in 1967.

Finished writing a new novel titled "A Piece of Clarisse" shortly before his death in 2006.
