Biography

Tommy Faircloth is a writer, director, and PGA accredited producer from Columbia, South Carolina. He began his career in film as an actor, landing small roles in television programs such as "In The Heat of The Night." However, he always had a desire to work behind the camera. After graduating from high school, he attended film school at the University of South Carolina in Columbia. During this time, he worked as a production. assistant and in the art department for feature films including "Renaissance Man," "The Program," and "Die Hard with a Vengeance."

His directorial debut was the horror-comedy "Crinoline Head," which received positive reviews from publications like Fangoria magazine. A few years later, he followed up "Crinoline Head" with his second feature film, "Generation Ax." "Ax" garnered excellent reviews from outlets such as Rue Morgue and Fangoria, and it was praised by horror legend Joe Bob Briggs, who awarded it 4 stars.

After "Ax" Faircloth took a break from horror, he worked on various theme park and roller coaster documentary projects for channels such as Discovery and The Travel Channel. In 2013, Tommy began his journey to return to the horror genre with his first short film, "The Cabin." This film has won numerous awards at film festivals across the United States and was also picked up for distribution by ShortsTV, allowing it to be broadcast worldwide alongside Oscar-winning short films.

In 2015, his feature film "Dollface" was released in North America by Breaking Glass Pictures and was also released in the UK under the title "The Doll." Faircloth's next feature, "Family Possessions," was released in early 2018. This film marks the return of Mark Patton, who starred in "Nightmare on Elm Street 2." Patton was also the lead in "Come Back to the Five and Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean," performing alongside Cher and Kathy Bates both on Broadway and in the film adaptation. Additionally, "Family Possessions" features Felissa Rose, who is known for her role in Faircloth's favorite slasher film, "Sleepaway Camp." "Family Possessions" was released on DVD and VOD by Sony Pictures/4Digital Media.

Faircloth is the founder of the Crimson Screen Horror Film Festival, which is recognized as one of the "Top 100 Best Reviewed Film Festivals" on FilmFreeway and is nationally acknowledged as a leading genre film festival. He is also the founder of the South Carolina Underground Film Festival, an international festival that showcases films of all genres. This festival is similarly recognized by FilmFreeway as one of the "Top 100 Best Reviewed Film Festivals" out of over 10,000 festivals worldwide. Both festivals highlight films from filmmakers around the globe while also shining a spotlight on locally produced works and filmmakers from South Carolina.

Faircloth's production company, Horse Creek Productions, is based in Columbia, South Carolina, where he produces all of his films. Tommy's latest feature film, "A Nun's Curse," starring Felissa Rose and Damian Maffei, was acquired for worldwide distribution by Uncork'd Entertainment. It was released internationally on DVD and streaming services, becoming his most successful film to date.

Faircloth also works for the South Carolina Education Lottery, where he produces digital content for all of its social media platforms. He is part of the marketing team, helping create award-winning commercials that showcase both the lottery games and the beneficiaries of the scholarships funded by the lottery.
