Biography

George Eugeniou was born on June 10, 1931 in Limassol, Cyprus. He was an actor and director, known for Medea (1982), Man of the World (1962) and Danger Man (1960). He was married to Maroulla Sekkides. He died on December 14, 2024 in London, UK.

Came to London in 1950 to study theatre with the support of his eldest sister, Loula Ionnides, and her family.

Began his stage career with the Dundee Repertory Theatre Company in 1954 as assistant stage manager and small part actor.

In 1968, he created the first Cypriot Advisory Service in the United Kingdom, which has helped thousands of Cypriot migrants and refugees receive welfare benefits, education, or housing.

He founded Theatro Technis (meaning work, art, craft) with four fellow actors in 1957 in a garage in Camden Mews that they shared with the owner's car.

He earned a scholarship to the Webber Douglas Academy, where he won awards for his acting.
