Biography

Robert Etcheverry was born on January 30, 1937 in Nanterre, Seine [now Hauts-de-Seine, Île-de-France], France. He was an actor and writer, known for Rough, Tough & Company (1980), Arpad le tzigane (1973) and Messieurs les jurés (1974). He was married to Bérangère Vattier. He died on November 21, 2007 in Paris, France.

After completing his studies, he was hired by the Comédie-Française.

He was the brother of Jean-Pierre Etcheverry , international center forward from 1959 to 1970 for the French handball team .

Between 1973 and 1974, he played the lead role in the adventure series Arpad, the Gypsy, a French-German-Hungarian co-production that briefly made Etcheverry a star abroad.

His acting career began in the early 1960s, when he mainly appeared in historical adventure series and films. In 1961, he made his film debut alongside Alida Valli in the film "La Fille du Torrent".

Robert Etcheverry was a French actor of Basque descent.
