  • Alain Escalle has been working as a director since 1990 both in France and abroad oscillating between personal work and collaborations on different media (Spectacles Vivants, Installations Muséales, Advertisements or Cinema). After studying applied arts and Cinema, in 1991 he discovered the world of digital creation as an infographic assistant on the video dance M FORMAN, MUSIC and Mozart by Peter Greenaway. He made his first short film in 1994, D'APRÉS LE NAUFRAGE having the subject of the drama of the Medusa radle (1st SCAM Prize for the best digital work, 3rd Prize category IMAGINA 94, Exposition IMAGE EN SCENE Art 3000 at the Palais de Tokyo 93). After many business trips to Japan (from 1993 to 2006) where he worked regularly, he decided to deepen this culture with the film LE CONTE DU MONDE FLOTTANT, an award-winning short film oner film in several international festivals (Grand Prix IMAGINA 2002 - prescient in the CÉSARS of French Cinema in 2003). This film and the subsequent installation, DRIPPING, GROUND 'ERO', is an apocalyptic and multiple view of the history of Japan and the advent of the bomb in Hiroshima. Since its inception, he has developed a work of visual research, covering the history of the world and that of the arts.
