Biography

Arif Erkin Güzelbeyoglu was born on September 11, 1935 in Gaziantep, Turkey. He was an actor and composer, known for Hope (1970), Between Family (2017) and Kanal (1978). He died on October 16, 2025 in Turkey.

Arif Erkin was an architect, a musician and a former bureaucrat in addition to being an actor.

While studying at university, the master actor joined a theatre group of young actors and later became one of the founders of the Dostlar Theatre.

He was awarded the Honorary Award at the Izmir International Film and Music Festival in 2021 for his contributions to cinema with his music.

Arif Erkin, who was also the composer of the music for many productions including Devekusu Kabare, started working at the Besiktas Municipality Planning Directorate after graduating from the faculty of architecture and retired from this position.

He studied architecture at Istanbul Technical University and music at the Opera Preparatory School of the State Opera and Ballet, but he also worked as a soloist and chorister at Istanbul Radio.
