Biography

Barbara has produced and/or directed over 50 musicals, plays, stunt shows and industrials. She is best known to Los Angeles theatre audiences for her award winning, long running musical revue, A-5678! which recently had a critically acclaimed revival at the Welk Resorts Theater, where she previously directed and choreographer, I Do I Do! Her innovative reputation in the worldwide resort theme park industry is "the person who brought theatre to theme parks" with such shows as Disney's Broadway at the Top, Universal's Wild West Stunt Show, The Flintstones Show and Beetlejuice's Rockin' Graveyard Revue... to name a few. She created, produced and directed three original shows for the Azamara Cruise Line and is very proud to have directed the UK premiere of Irving Berlin's White Christmas. As a supporter of Broadway theatre, she has helped bring investors to the original and continuing productions of RENT and Avenue Q among others. She served as the executive producer of two animated musical films for Nickelodeon and the Creative Director for all musical numbers and videos for The Disney Channel's Mickey Mouse Club. In 1987, Barbara Epstein & Associates was created and has gone on to become one of the premiere production houses in Los Angeles. Her favorite role is that of "mentor" and she enjoys the successes of the many whose careers she has started and/or touched.
