Biography

Ildikó Enyedi was born on November 15, 1955 in Budapest, Hungary. She is a director and writer, known for On Body and Soul (2017), Simon, the Magician (1999) and Silent Friend (2025). She was previously married to Wilhelm Droste.

On Body and Soul (2017) is her first feature film in 18 years.

Member of the 'Official Competition' jury at the 42nd Berlin International Film Festival in 1992.

Invited to join the 'Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' (AMPAS) in 2017.

In 2002, Ildikó was awarded with the Officer's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany. It was created by the first President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Theodor Heuss, on 7 September 1951.

Member of the 'Official Competition' jury at the 71st Berlin International Film Festival in 2021.
