Biography

Elisabeth Endriss was born on July 2, 1944 in Eger, Sudetenland, Germany [now Cheb, Czech Republic]. She was an actress and director, known for Absolute Power (1997), Vom Glück verfolgt (1987) and Verstörung - und eine Art von Poesie. Die Filmlegende Bernhard Wicki (2007). She was married to Bernhard Wicki. She died on July 16, 2026 in Munich, Bavaria, Germany.

German screen and voice actress, trained at the Otto-Falckenberg-School in Munich. She was the widow of noted film director Bernhard Wicki.

Has provided the German dubbing voice for, among others, Helen Mirren, Kathy Baker, Claudia Cardinale, Leslie Caron and Julie Christie.

In 1977, she met the actor, photographer, and director Bernhard Wicki and appeared in films such as "Sansibar oder Der letzte Grund" and "Das Spinnennetz". She married Wicki in 1995. Following his death in 2000, she founded the Bernhard Wicki Memorial Fund (*Bernhard-Wicki-Gedächtnisfonds e. V.*), which presents the German Film Peace Prize – The Bridge ('Friedenspreis des Deutschen Films – Die Brücke'). She also made it possible for Wicki's photographic work to be exhibited.

She worked primarily in the theater but also appeared in several feature films and television movies, such as Curth Flatow's "Das Geld liegt auf der Bank".

Elisabeth Endriss completed in 2007 her film biography of film legend Bernhard Wicki, titled "Verstörung – und eine Art von Poesie".
