In each of her first two Broadway appearances, she played the love interest of characters played by Brent Spiner. The first was in a musical ("1776") and the second was in a non-musical play ("Life x 3").

She has been nominated for Broadway Tony awards three separate times in 10 years, for both straight plays and musicals ("Life x 3", "Death of a Salesman", and "Cabaret").

For her work in Chicago, she was nominated five times for Joseph Jefferson Awards, winning it twice for her work in "Pygmalion" and "The Winter's Tale".

In three out of her four recurring Law & Order series roles, she plays either a psychologist or psychiatrist, but unlike other supporting actors, her characters do not have cross-over appearances in the franchise.
