- Portly British comedian with music hall background, also surprisingly good pianist and composer. Enjoyed many successful runs on the stage, most notably "Blue for a Boy" at Her Majesty's Theatre in London (1950-1951). Appeared in occasional films. Often spotted a monocle and, invariably, a fat cigar.

He returned to the UK in the mid 30's and after appearing in Mr Wittington began to be known as a funny man. Later with television he got his own series in 1954 with Emney Enterprises.
