Biography

Luciano Emmer was born on January 19, 1918 in Milan, Lombardy, Italy. He was a director and writer, known for Sunday in August (1950), L'acqua... il fuoco (2003) and Il paradiso perduto (1949). He died on September 16, 2009 in Rome, Lazio, Italy.

Father of Michele Emmer

Italian director with a penchant for art documentaries. He was the son of a Venetian municipal engineer and studied law at Milan University. He ventured into making art films using a 16mm camera in 1938. From 1949, he also directed neo-realist feature films, primarily romantic comedies.
