Composer and lyricist, a former concert pianist. Best known as writer for theatrical revues performed at London's West End from 1922. His most famous song was "Spread a Little Happiness", featured in his 1929 musical "Mr. Cinders". He also authored several humorous books.

Grandson of the English composer Julia Woolf (b. 1831, d. 1903).
