Biography

Brian Ellis is a multi-disciplinary director, writer, artist and designer.

After graduating from the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design, Brian landed his dream job as a toy designer with The LEGO Company in 2003. While at LEGO, he developed and honed his skills for storytelling and IP development by designing for iconic properties such as Star Wars, Harry Potter, Batman, Bionicle and Ninjago.

Since 2008, Brian has worked as a Creative Consultant across the toy and entertainment industry. His love for storytelling has manifested in many mediums including the graphic novel, Ross Wellington, as well as the world of 3D animation with the Sweden-based Sir Lancelot Animation studio, where he served as a story artist and director. In 2016 Brian made his live-action debut with VESTIGE, a cinematic ad campaign he created, financed and co-directed as a proof-of-concept pitch for The LEGO Agency.

Most recently, Brian's unique skill-set bridged the toy and story worlds once again as a development artist for Spin Master Entertainment. His work can be seen in the 2021 feature, PAW PATROL:THE MOVIE, as well as several animated children's series in-development for Netflix.

Brian lives with his best friend/Bull Terrier, Jack Burton, and is based in Milwaukee and Los Angeles.
