Biography

Josip Elic was born on March 10, 1921 in Butte, Montana, USA. He was an actor, known for One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975), Black Rain (1989) and The Producers (1967). He died on October 21, 2019 in River Edge, New Jersey, USA.

Worked as a copper miner and was in the Civilian Conservation Corp. Served in the Navy during World War II, then worked on Wall Street afterwards. Took acting classes to try to improve his sales skills, and decided to switch careers.

He was cremated at Beaugard-Mcknight Funeral Home in River Edge, New Jersey. His urn was subsequently buried at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus, New Jersey. His sister, nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces and caretaker had a memorial service for him at First Congregational Church in River Edge on November 16, 2019.

The son of Martha (Cacic/Cacich) and Joseph Elich, who were Croatian immigrants.
