- While attending Amherst College (Class of 1970), he was an active member of their singing (mainly A cappella) choral group, the Zumbyes. Singing bass, he appeared on at least two of their yearly albums. One issued in 1968 also featured future actor/writer/singer, Stephen Collins. David, himself, was featured on the group's 1970 LP, where he was the featured soloist on the song "Daddy". He also did the arrangement on the song "Taste of Honey" for the group on that same LP.
