Biography

Urs Egger was born on March 9, 1953 in Bern, Kanton Bern, Switzerland. He was a director and writer, known for Kinder der Landstrasse (1992), The Living Daylights (1987) and Shillings from Heaven (2018). He died on January 18, 2020 in Berlin, Germany.

Was a Director Fellow at the American Film Institute's Center for Advanced Film Studies 1976/77.

Worked as a correspondent from Los Angeles, California, for the Swiss "Neue Zürcher Zeitung" and the Australian "Cinema Papers" from 1974 to 1977.

Lives in Berlin since 1994.
