Biography

Henry Edwards was born on September 18, 1882 in Weston-Super-Mare, Somerset, England, UK. He was an actor and director, known for A Welsh Singer (1915), Scrooge (1935) and The Amazing Quest of Mr. Ernest Bliss (1920). He was married to Chrissie White. He died on November 2, 1952 in Chobham, Surrey, England, UK.

His career papers have recently been donated to the BFI Special Collections.

Co-founder, with Julius Hagen, of the British production company Neo-Art Productions.

Popular British leading actor of silent films in the 1920's, often co-starring opposite his actress-wife 'Chrissie White'. Edwards also worked as a writer-director from 1916. In the mid-1930s he was praised for his work on Juggernaut (1936) and Scrooge (1935). He subsequently resumed his acting career playing jovial old-timers.
