Pamela Edwards McClafferty is a writer, an award winning film producer and fashion designer and songwriter. Presently, Pamela has written the book and lyrics to the musical, Artland, collaborating with Grammy Award Winning composer, Stanley Clarke, who also was chosen as the National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Master 2022.

Pamela began her career writing during her travels as a singer with the California Youth Chorale performing in opera houses and churches in fifteen European countries. In between her studies at the University of Arizona where she majored in Music and later at UCLA, she received two scholarships to the Los Angeles Civic Light Opera. Thereafter, she performed with various singing groups at the Las Vegas Hilton, Dessert Inn and Sahara Hotel. With The Unusual We, she performed at the Hollywood Bowl, appeared on the Tonight Show, and sang on the Unusual We Album, remastered by Battiste on Beatball/Shagadelic label. It is still selling in Japan, South Korea and on Amazon.

When the pages of her notebooks transformed from story to novel, Owen Laster, Pamela's literary agent at William Morris, placed her novel with Warner Publishing while Sam Weisbord secured a six-figure deal with Michael Landon for an option on all visual rights. Later the novel was entitled Inherit The Storm/Tudor Publishing, and debuted at the same time that Al Quinn, Pamela's New York's 7th Avenue Rep, began selling her fashions to Bonwitt Teller, Bloomingdales and over 90 specialty stores. Within months, Pamela's fashions were presented in WWD's"Best of New York"and Inherit the Storm hit the best seller list at #5.

In the 1995 Pamela sold her design business to co-found Spellbound Pictures with her best friend and multi-talented husband, Producer/Writer Mark McClafferty. Creating an international consortium, they raised $60M with Canal+/Ellipse Programme to produce Family Films, including the highly acclaimed film, The Climb, which received 6 international film festival awards including the UNICEF Award in Berlin. She also co-produced the Platinum Comedy Special Katt Williams Live, edited the bestselling novel, BLUE, and now is rewriting her bestseller under its original title, In the Name of Todd, out at Christmas.

On her life-long work, Artland the musical, Pamela is collaborating with legendary Grammy composer/musician, Stanley Clarke. Whether in town or away on tours, they have collaborated through the years on rewrites and re-recordings.Artland was chosen as the first original musical in the Los Angeles High School for The Arts’s 6 month curriculum, and The Festival of New American Musicals recommended their subscribers attend Artland Workshop performances at the Caroline Leonetti Ahmanson Theatre. Numerous workshops, rewrites and recordings have followed.Artland is now in New York with producers. Pamela's songs,Shades of Black and White, Reflections and Soldiers Not Forgot are on all streaming networks and Spellbound Pictures’s Hush Harlem and Laser Sentinel are waiting in the wings along with several comedies.
