Younger brother of vocalist Bob Eberly.

Father of singer & author Jan Eberle and singer Ray Eberle, Jr.

Father to Nancy Atchison-Aylesworth.

Grandfather to Bill Aylesworth and Thomas Aylesworth.

Vocalist, hired by Glenn Miller in 1938 despite his lack of professional experience. Featured on many Miller recordings, but was sacked in 1942 after turning up late for a rehearsal. Subsequently joined the Krupa organisation and then led his own orchestra (1945-mid-50's) with arrangements by Billy Maxted.

Served in the U.S. Army 1943-45.

Often appeared with fellow alumni Tex Beneke, Paula Kelly, and the Modernaires to perform many of the hit songs they'd recorded with the original Glenn Miller Orchestra.
