Marcel Déat was born on 7 March 1894 in Guérigny, Nièvre, France. He was married to Hélène Delaveau. He died on 5 January 1955 in Turin, Piedmont, Italy.
Author, politician, he was first a socialist and became a minister in the Vichy government. he fled at the end of the war to Italy where he died under a pseudonym.
