John Allen Duvall worked in Hollywood as a foley/sound effects editor from 1983-1993. Since 1997 he has taught film production at the university level, founding the Cinema Department in Elon University's School of Communications (1997-2004), and the Cinema concentration in the Communications & Media Studies department of Dominican University of California (2004-2020). He produced the 90-min. video documentary "Peak Oil and Transition" (2011), available on YouTube. In retirement he is a working screenwriter, with have a dozen feature screenplays and a mini-series pilot to his credit.
