Was a schoolteacher before becoming an actress.

Appeared in 1963 film "Youngblood Hawke" as the mother of James Franciscus. In real life Franciscus was 33 years her junior but they died just three days apart in 1991; Ms. Dunnock died on July 5 and Franciscus on July 8.

At the time of her death, she and her husband lived in West Tisbury on the island of Martha's Vineyard in Massachussets.

Served as matron of honor to Patricia Neal at her wedding to Roald Dahl on July 2, 1953.

Her husband Keith M. Urmy, was born June 13, 1906 and died February 1995 at the age of 88. Before retirement, he was an executive of Chemical Bank in Manhattan.
