- American character actor and humorist, with fifteen years experience in vaudeville. His style and delivery were somewhat influenced by Will Rogers. He made his career on stage and in night clubs with rope tricks and as a teller of homespun philosophies and satirical observations on American politics, sports and way of life - all delivered in his trademark Texan drawl. Unsurprisingly, his screen appearances were primarily in westerns.
