- Founder (in 1957) and director of the London School of Film Technique until its liquidation in 1974.

- Father of John Dunbar (and grandfather of John and M. Faithfull's son Nicholas), who possibly contributed to the break up of the Beatles when he introduced John Lennon to Yoko Ono at his Indica art gallery in swinging sixties London.
