- When she was a child, she dreamed of being a singer.
- When she reached adolescence, Bertha Elisa left her native Matamoros, Tamaulipas, a city in northern Mexico, and moved to Monterrey, the second most important city in the country. She studied psychology. It was there that she began her musical career with the band "Toby and his friends" on September 15, 1974.

- She traveled to Spain in 1978, to compete at the Mallorca Festival with the song "Señor Amor".
