When she was a child, she dreamed of being a singer.

When she reached adolescence, Bertha Elisa left her native Matamoros, Tamaulipas, a city in northern Mexico, and moved to Monterrey, the second most important city in the country. She studied psychology. It was there that she began her musical career with the band "Toby and his friends" on September 15, 1974.

A few days before her death she underwent a pleuropulmonary decortication operation.

Dulce was a Mexican singer and actress.

With the support of the singer José José, she began working as a soloist in Mexico City.

In 2009, she participated in the iconic concert 'Armando Manzanero y Sus Mujeres' at the National Auditorium in Mexico City.

Dulce gained international recognition in the second season of the reality show 'Siempre Reinas,' alongside Lorena Herrera, Lucía Méndez, Rosa Gloria Chagoyán, and Olivia Collins.

She was also part of the Gran Diosas tour, performing with artists like Spanish singers Marta Sánchez and Mónica Naranjo, Venezuelans Karina and María Conchita Alonso, and Mexicans Marisela, María del Sol, Rocío Banquells, and more.

She traveled to Spain in 1978, to compete at the Mallorca Festival with the song "Señor Amor".
