Biography

Peter Duguid was born on February 27, 1923 in Felling, Durham, England, UK. He was a director and producer, known for Six Days of Justice (1972), Born and Bred (1978) and Storyboard (1983). He was married to Gillian Spoor. He died on March 3, 2009 in London, England, UK.

Latterly rumoured to have been under consideration for the rôle of the original Doctor Who (1963), a job he would have already ruled himself out of after enrolling on the BBC's director's course.

After a stint in his local amateur dramatic world, was enrolled at London's Old Vic Theatre school (graduating in 1949) and was an early member of the Royal Court's English Stage Company (ESC), as well as spending time with the Young Vic company and Stratford's Memorial Theatre.

Trained as an engineering draughtsman in the North-Eastern shipyards, following a scholarship to Jarrow grammar school.

Sometimes mangled, his surname is pronounced "Dewgid".
