- Shay Duffin was born on February 26, 1931 in Dublin, Ireland. He was an actor and writer, known for Leprechaun (1993), Seabiscuit (2003) and Beowulf (2007). He died on April 23, 2010 in Los Angeles, California, USA.
- Appeared in four films that were nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture. Two of them, Titanic (1997) and The Departed (2006), eventually won.
- Irish playwright and character actor, often appearing in his own one-man plays, notably his portrayal of Irish playwright and poet Brendan Behan in "Brendan Behan: Confessions of An Irish Rebel." On screen often glimpsed as publicans/bartenders, priests or police officers.
