Roxanne Ducharme is a multi-award-winning French-Canadian AI Film Director, animator and art director based in Panama. A Daytime Emmy® Award winner, she holds a BFA in Cinema from Concordia University and has four decades of experience in animation and visual storytelling.
Her credits include Steven Spielberg’s An American Tail: Fievel Goes West, the Oscar-nominated short The Village, Asterix and the Big Fight, and the Emmy® Award-winning series Arthur, on which she worked as an animation supervisor. Her illustrations have also appeared in documentaries for National Geographic, Discovery Channel and the Science Channel.
Known as TrashCanRoxanne, she combines traditional animation experience with generative technology to create surreal, poetic films that have received international awards and festival selections. In 2026, she was named one of Leonardo.Ai’s Top 50 Women AI Filmmakers.
