Biography

Founded Teatro Experimental de Cascais (TEC), in 1965, of which she was the mainstay and one of the leading stars until 1974. She returned to it, alternating dramas and comedies, in 1987.

Trophy for best actress in a musical show, for her part in the vaudeville "Mulheres de Calças" (1987), by Vítor Pavão dos Santos, offered by the magazine "Nova Gente", Lisbon, by popular vote.

Acclaimed stage actress, of which a number of great plays: "Deseja-se Mulher" (1963), of Almada Negreiros; "Esopaida" (1965), of António José da Silva; "A Casa de Bernarda Alba", of García Lorca; "A Maluquinha de Arroios", of André Brun; "D. Quixote", of Yves Jamiaque; "Ivone, Princesa de Borgonha", of Gombrowicz; "Acto sem Palavras", of Samuel Beckett; "A Verdadeira História de Jack, o Estripador" (1977), of Elizabeth Huppert; "À Procura de Alberto" (1979), of G. Leautier; "Maria Stuart", of Maraini; "O Balcão", of Jean Genet; "Opereta", of Gombrowicz", "Erros Meus Má Fortuna Amor Ardente", of Natália Correia", among others. Her movie career pales besides her powerful stage appearances, and yet those who worked with her said that "she was a great actress, who had the power of attracting the camera to her" - quoted from Artur Semedo who directed her in O Rei das Berlengas (1978).
