Biography

Daniel Dresner is a British actor, voice artist, coach and teacher who was born in Bolivia, grew up in Liverpool and London, lived and acted in Tokyo and trained and worked in New York City; before moving back again to London! His father was a Scottish engineer and his mother an English artist. Dresner earned an honors degree in Business before spending 7 years with multinational Olivetti, rising to the heights of Divisional Manager in the UK. After a year travelling/backpacking, he ended up in Tokyo Japan where he remained for 3 and a half years becoming a theater director, teacher and working actor. His first stage role was as Tony in A Woman in Mind by Alan Ayckbourn. His first feature film role was as the Archangel Gabriel in Nostradamus and his first TV roles were in the variety show Tunnels on Fuji TV. Recognising that further training was desirable, he moved to New York City where he studied at the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute and attained a certificate of excellence. His most enjoyable project was playing Puck in Midsummer Night's Dream and Feste in 12th Night in rep in front of 600 people a night for 3 months in Washington Square Park. After 6 years in NYC, making his way and paying all his bills as an actor in film, TV and stage, he moved back to London. With his acting resume expanding further he qualified to become a life and acting coach. He has since coached hundreds of actors ranging from stars to those starting out. He is the author of A Life-Coaching Approach to Screen Acting, published by Bloomsbury/Methuen, which sold over 1000 copies around the world in its first 2 years on the shelves. Since 1992, Dresner has appeared in over 100 films, 75 commercials and 100 plays, as well as voicing games, narrations, commercials, corporate videos, ADR etc. One of his most enjoyable claims to fame is ADR on The Boxer with Daniel Day Lewis where he was the voice of the commentator, an army officer and much of the crowd.
