Leilani Rosine

Leilani Rosine is an actress originally from Brooklyn, New York. Her work includes film, television, and theater. Born and raised in East New York Brooklyn, she attended the LaGuardia Arts High School for Performing Arts. During her final year she became a Level II Theater Spoken Only Award recipient from Young Arts. From there she went on to receive her B.F.A from the California Institute of the Arts' School of Theater, and studied abroad at the National Drama School of New Zealand "Toi Whakaari" in Wellington, NZ. She also studied at HB Studio. She has performed on stage at venues including Madison Square Garden, The New Federal Theatre, The Workshop Theater, The Lorraine Hansberry Theater (San Francisco), REDCAT (LA), and The Newman Center Opera House (CO). She was recently seen as the lead in the film "Sheet Music", for which she won Best Breakout Performance at the 2022 Philadelphia First Glance Film Festival.

Leilani is also a writer and producer, with her credits including the short film "The Interview", which was an official selection in the 2022 Deltas of Charlotte Black Women in Film' showcase. Her most recent writing credit was for the film "What Exists" ( on Kweli TV ) , for which she also received a Best Actress nomination at the 2025 Pasadena International Film Festival. It was an official selection at the 2024 New York African Film Festival, the 2024 RSF Martha's Vineyard African American Film Festival and the 2024 First Glance Film Festival where it was also nominated for Best Comedy, the Mela Hudson Award and the Best Breakout Performance Award. She can be seen next in the films "Anything Helps" from director Aya Bogod; in season 2 of the series "Shoutout 2 My Therapist" from director/writer Stefanie Philpott and the film "What Remains" from director Tiffany Cherry White.
