- Geoffrey Drake was born in 1911. He was a production designer and art director, known for The Guns of Navarone (1961), Jason and the Argonauts (1963) and The Bridge on the River Kwai (1957). He died in 1995.
- Much associated with the British-made films of Columbia Pictures between the late 1950s and 1970s. In particular, he became a frequent collaborator of Carl Foreman's after they had both been connected with "The Bridge On The River Kwai"; he subsequently worked on six films made by Foreman's company, Open Road Productions.
