- According to media reports, Ms. Drake filed for divorce from Billy Eckstine in California just 76 days after they were secretly married in Ellicott City, Maryland. In stating the grounds for divorce as cruelty, she cited "a conflict of personalities" and his drinking problem, which made her "nervous and very ill." They apparently patched things up, however.
