As a Chicago native, Mitchell Drain studied fine art and photography at the Art Institute of Chicago. Moving to Los Angeles in 1985, Mitchell began his career at Robert Abel and Associates as a matte painter and animator. As digital visual effects evolved, Mitch transitioned to compositing, rising to compositing supervisor and ultimately Visual Effect Supervisor. Mitch is employed as VFX Supervisor at Digital Domain.
