Biography

Heather Donahue was born on December 22, 1974 in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania, USA. She is an actress and writer, known for The Blair Witch Project (1999), Taken (2002) and Seven and a Match (2001).

Legally changed her name to Rei Hance sometime between 2016 and 2021. She did this to separate herself from The Blair Witch Project and has said that using her real name in the film has been her biggest regret.

Quit acting in 2008. She blames the success of her feature film debut The Blair Witch Project (1999), which led to her being typecast repeatedly. She now works as a pot farmer.

Graduated from Upper Darby High School in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania, in 1991.

Graduated from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1995.

[talking about her character in The Blair Witch Project (1999)]: "It's so funny because I've heard people say it's a feminist movie because there's a woman in charge and I've heard it called a completely anti-feminist movie because this woman screws everything up. It's just who cares really? It's just a movie. But I think you can look at it as a feminist film. I mean, well, hell, if the Blair Witch is a woman, she's really ultimately control of everyone in the film."
