Biography

Solveig Dommartin was born on May 16, 1961 in Constantine, Algeria. She was an actress and director, known for Wings of Desire (1987), Until the End of the World (1991) and It Would Only Take a Bridge (1998). She died on January 11, 2007 in Paris, France.

Learned circus acrobatics and performed on the trapeze for her feature film debut, 'Wings of Desire', without using a stunt double.

Was the life companion of Wim Wenders and later, during the last three years of her life, of actor Jean-Claude Vogel.

Had a daughter named Venus, with sets painter Dominique Antraygues.
