His great grandfather, Patrick Bradley, Private First Class, was imprisoned in Andersonville Prison during the Civil War. Permanent Disability from disease contracted in rebel (exact wording on discharge papers), prisons. It was a honorable discharge.

He did investigative work for Lenny Bruce which led to his appearance on a documentary, Lenny Bruce: Swear to Tell the Truth (1998).

Was the owner of Dolan Whitney Detective Agency, which was second only to Pinkerton in the nation for uniformed guards for a time. The last detective agency he founded with his wife Elaine Calzolari Dolan, was Arrow Detective Agency which is still active today under other leadership.
