- Jan Doat was born on December 17, 1909 in France. He was an actor, known for Vive la liberté (1946), Quatuor (1956) and L'ennemi secret (1945). He died on February 4, 1988 in France.
- Important theater and opera director in France, he was invited by Quebec prime minister Maurice Duplessis to become director of the Quebec theater school . He later was professor at Laval university in Quebec city.
